Mike was THE MAN in outdoor advertising operations
Michael R. Deeds had been in the Phoenix Corporate Headquarters Office since 1996. As Executive Vice-President/Operations, his primary responsibility is to oversee the operations departments in each of Clear Channel Outdoor's over 40 individual profit centers.
Following his 8-year stint in the U. S. Army/Special Forces, including two tours of duty in Vietnam and a Bronze Star for his service to his country. Mike Deeds began his Outdoor career in 1968 as a bill poster with Pacific Outdoor. In 1976, he was named Operations Coordinator in the San Diego branch; a position he held until 1991 , he then accepted the position of Branch Operations Manager in Los Angeles for Patrick Media (later to become Eller Media). In 1996 he moved to the Phoenix Corporate headquarters as Executive Vice-President of Operations.
Mike has developed significant improvements in the technical aspects of displaying and changing outdoor advertising copy. He has served on numerous industry-operations committees as either a member or advisor. He is recognized as one of the nation's foremost experts in Outdoor Operations. In 2005 he was inducted into the Outdoor Advertising Association of America's Hall of Fame.
